that leadership involves delegation not 'doing it all' yourself.
that trust in your team is critical - micro managing is counterproductive.
that prior preparation is much more effective than procrastination.
that being organised is essential for effective leadership.

I learnt that it is very important to develop a strong team culture and that it was my role to develop and support those members to achieve the required outcomes.
